As a undergraduate student i have alot of potential job options and number of possibilities. But I have pointed out some of the jobs i want to work and see myself working as. It is listed below :

1. CGI artist (video Game Artist)

CGI (Computer-generated Imagery) is the creation of still and moving images and visual effects using computer hardware and software. Video game artists use computer to create animations, characters and the environment, uses special effects.

Duties and Responsibilities of Video Game Artist:

  • The key part of working as a video game artist is creating special effects, 2d and 3d designs and animations. Working with game developers and finding out the key story and the concept of games.
  • Meeting other designers, artists and developers to work in group and share ideas and work in a collaborative environment.
  • Researching about new ways to create and design, animate. Developing new ways to improve the storyboard which maps out all the scenes and how it looks.
  • For the initial part artists help to conceptualize designs and process to come up with the best plan of action.
  • Reviewing and editing the animations or effects based on comments or suggestions.
  • Creating visual representation and prototype for different organizations, projects and developers.

The Key Skills required are

  • ARTISTIC Skills: Need and understanding of color, texture light and how these elements work together.
  • TIME MANAGEMENT Skills: Working on Projects and understanding the deadlines and prioritizing the essential tasks on the projects.
  • COMPUTER Skills: Should know how to use computer software and editing programs to create a smooth workflow and must know the latest techniques that can enhance, improve and widen the knowledge so that to remain an asset to employers.
  • SOFTWARE Skills: Knowledge of software like Adobe Suite(Premier pro, Lightroom, Illustrator, etc.). Also, some knowledge in web design software with knowledge of programming language such as HTML, JAVA, CSS.
  • CREATIVITY Skills: Need to have a creative mindset, which can help them to highlight their skills to become a successful artist. Constant brainstorming and creating strategies to improve projects can be a way for standing out from the competitions.

2. Game Developer

Game developer works on teams to design plan and produce games for different devices such as mobile, consoles and computers. The work includes creating visual contents, writing codes and programs and add features and functionality. For this career the intended person needs to have background in software development and mathematics as well as working in a collaborative environment.

Duties and Responsibilities of Game Developer:

  • Game developer can work as a freelancer or an employee of a organization with specific duties to fulfill.
  • Game developer plans and structures the story line or the specification and features of  a game and works with video game artist to develop game.
  • Working with Designers and artist in collaboration to find the best way to develop the game.
  • Creating graphics, animation and designing the environment.
  • Using programming languages which meets the targeted platform of game, writing code so to implement the game’s logic and allows the players to interact with the game world.
  • Reviewing and editing the game features, testing bugs and debugging the games with constant improvement in the features of the game.
  • Adding constant features and making improvement in the game after shipping to the gamers.

  • ANALYTICAL THINKING Skills: Game developers need to know what the requirement of the game are and determine how to implement the designs and the codes to produce the game.
