Skill Audit

Skills audit is a process that can be used to identify the skill gaps in an organisation. The outcome is a training needs analysis that identifies where training is needed. According Deakin’s TALENTCONNECT’s online module on ‘Career Decisions’ (Deakin University 2017) available at: career decision module,  I have included the outcomes of this activity below :

The skills I am lacking for my career goals and things I need to focus on are listed below:

Facilitation: Facilitation Skills are important for my career goal as it can help me build better relationships with my employee, colleagues and employers. To improve this skill i need to practice my communication skills, practice my self-assessment and act with integrity.

Problem Solving: Problem Solving skills is a huge affecting factor in my career goal. It can be used to create strategic outcomes and improve the way of thinking. To improve this skill i need to workout my brains with puzzles, brainstorming, and analyzing the problems.

Building relationship: Relationships can give you huge opportunity to develop and improve career and can keep ourselves happy and satisfied. To improve relationship building i need to give time to people, develop empathy, improve communication skills and learn to give and take feedback.

Networking: Networking skills are required to exchange specific outcomes for mutual benefits. This can help me by making connections with professionals and working with them to develop my career. To improve this skill I need Think strategically, select and set goals, doing research and finding out what is more important.

Project management: Project management is a skill required to work in a team. It showcases my work to the team. To improve this skill i have to look for ways to improve work, creating daily habits and setting appropriate expectations and sticking to it.

Teaching: This skill is required in my career to build a community for myself that can help me find what are the limitations of the work i am doing and finding a way to eliminate those limitations. To improve this skill i need to master my content and improve the way of sharing the information. Finding out what are the faulty information and misconceptions of the topics or the work and giving valid reasons.
